Legal issues for social media is all the more reason for $SNAP and @evanspiegel to do right be long suffering shareholders and spin off Specs, which given the form factor and price point will be DOA wrt mass market appeal. The tech is cool and worth something, but its not a commercially viable product yet. Time to spin it and raise capital for it via minority investors, not SNAP shareholders.

At 971mn MAU as of Q2, that means 68mn subs at 7% penetration vs the current 3.3%. At the Q2 ARPU runrate, that implies just under $3B in annual revenue and suggests that there remains considerable runway on the subscription side vs the $1.2B sub revenue runrate in Q2.
