Was a good week for $MTW (cranes), up 10% this week. @mascarosergi recently pitched the stock in his written Q&A style Skull Sessions. Their increasing emphasis on service revenue is interesting, something a lot of construction type companies have been doing over the past few years. It’s the “magic formula” for construction companies, which can result in a huge expansion of historical valuation ratios. You’ve seen that in stocks like $STRL and $BDT.TO. The cool thing about this kind of set up is that a lot of investors won’t believe there will be a valuation re-rate in a cyclical industry, until it’s actually happened… then they’ll say it’s overvalued🤷 Watching closely. Nobert Lou crushed it on $NVR in the late 90s, his writeups under Charlie479 on VIC are mandatory reading. You will be a better investor after reading this and gain valuable mental models to overlay on interesting real life examples. Norbert invested in Burlington Northern before Buffett. I’m always fascinated by the huge value in large caps and how to frame it. Buffett in $AAPL, $KO, $WFC historically. Terry Smith $DPZ. Ackman $CMG, $CP. $GOOG like a year and a half ago. Mohnish Pabrai called out $META a few years ago and it multi bagged. This is a useful example $MSFT in 2006.
