@svrnco @ASchulz888 @irbezek Hmm... $TLT implied vol is <15% for the January '29 expiry. Looks like an ATM straddle pays off if rates move by at least 1.5 percentage points in either direction. Probably not a bad trade.

Heres a portfolio that's 80% $SPY, $70% $TLT, -70% $PFF, 20% $GLD. Similar return with way lower volatility. Obviously this is just backwards looking, but there are structural reasons why this kind of mix works (Preferred stocks suck, most of the alpha is there). https://t.co/pfsyWJG2f2

Aiming for maximum price appreciation during the next recession/return to ZIRP. $EDV (or $TLT) was much more monetizable than long-term TIPS in March 2020 when you needed liquidity most. https://t.co/RHEWLObo4J
