Paramount Skydance’s debt-heavy Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition, streaming bundle pricing and alcohol-industry diversification anchor…
What a powerhouse. Almost makes me wish Netflix $NFLX had succeeded in closing this deal. It will be interesting to see the trajectory of Skydance's $SKYD net debt on the balance sheet over time. While David Zazlav and Warner Bros. Discovery $WBD were criticized a lot for creating a highly leveraged behemoth, they had been consistently paying down that debt:
$PSKY and $ORCL: The cost to insure the debt of both companies against default has converged and is increasingly moving in lock-step, a sign investors are beginning to treat the two credits as intertwined. This appears, to me, a very dangerous game the Ellison family is playing.
“Good news. We got you your full $PSKY allocation.” https://t.co/oKKwqUnBNn
The 10yr $PSKY HY bonds already down ~5pts on the break Thanks for playing https://t.co/mvCgEfHmvF
Paramount's $52bn $WBD debt package is FINALLY in the market. Here's the package: $32bn of IG-rated 1L bonds, the 5th-largest US high-grade sale EVER. Plus $7.5bn of loans and $12.4bn of 2L HY bonds. Paramount's existing unsecured bonds? Primed. Back of the line. Good luck and thanks for playing. Where in the cap stack are you playing? $PSKY $PARA
